Dave strives to achieve maximum response and effortless playability in the instruments he services. Pressure and suction tests are used to diagnose leaks which interrupt the air wave in the instrument bore. A fine touch is used to adjust instrument mechanisms. A member of NAPBIRT, he also consults with several different instrument manufacturers, designers and technicians to discuss playability and repair issues. As a woodwind player, he is able to discern subtle response issues in the instrument, and discuss them with the customer if need be. The result is an instrument which allows for a freer, more musical expression.
